He began his academic journey at the Episcopal School of Acadiana before earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University in New Orleans. Dr. Frugé then pursued his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Frugé remained in academics and began his career at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans. There, he dedicated himself to treating the nation's veterans and honed his expertise in an array of specialty services, including PM&R, Polytrauma, Traumatic Brain Injury, and multidisciplinary pain management. In his role, Dr. Frugé was responsible for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from various musculoskeletal and pain disorders. He demonstrated his commitment to delivering individualized care by developing personalized rehabilitation plans for these conditions, as well as for patients with neurologic disorders, such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Dr. Frugé also performed nerve conduction studies and electromyography to evaluate peripheral nerve disorders. Dr. Frugé is a double board-certified physician in PM&R and Pain Medicine and is grateful to bring his knowledge and skillset back home to Lafayette, LA. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of complex pain, musculoskeletal, and neurological disorders. Given his background in PM&R, Dr. Frugé takes a holistic approach to managing pain, understanding that pain is a complex disease that each patient experiences differently.
